About the attractions
This 1,468m high mountain located on the boarder of Sanae-myeon, Hwacheon-gun and Bukmyeon, Gapyeong-gun in Gyeonggi-do, is intersected at its summit by the 38th parallel. It is remembered for its tragic history with heavy battles during the Korean War and it is linked with related resources such as Hwaaksan hiking, the magnificent Samil Valley, Beobjangsa and Hwaeumdongjeongsaji.
hotdaebawi- It is located on the edge of Hwaaksan in Samil-ri and there is a pine tree growing on the edge of the 20m high rock. Also, at the end of July and early August, the Hwaaksan Tomato Fest is held at the Culture Village in Sachang-ri, Sanae-myeon. Many tourists participate in this to enjoy various events such as tomato cuisines and tasting events.

- When starting from Samil-ri and visiting Beobjangsa, Hwaeumdongjeongsaji and Chotdaebawi, visitors will be able to view many famous types of scenery such as Naksuae, Mogol Valley, Bansuabji Beobjeongsa, Hwaeumdong Valley Farm, etc. This is a typical tourist course (cars can be driven up to Hwaak Tunnel)
